RE: Non-Chinese Tires? Anyone?

Goodyear Wranglers are made in the good ole U.S.of A. Last set on my old 5'vr went 4 years--my new 5'vr came with Triangle tires--yup,made in China--gave them to Salvation Army and put on Goodyear Wranglers. Here is a website you might like to check out--Good Luck, Lars

RE: pismo beach rv vs. campland on the bay

Have stayed at both--just came back from Pismo Beach--Pismo Coast Village--and had a great time--it is right next to the beach/ocean and it is a great beach for walking, exploring or you can drive onto the beach. We rode our bicycles into Pismo--cute seaside town. There are a lot of areas to bicycle.
Campland is huge and a zoo--very small crowded beach--700 sites--very expensive--has sites at different levels--some very crowded, some not so much--we have always stayed at sites that overlook the Bay--they are expensive.
My choice for a good wholesome experience would be Pismo. Lars

RE: 2001 Nash 19B

Nash is made by Northwood MFG, in La Grande, Oregon. They have an excellent Forum which you can advertise on as well as ask any questions or make any comments. Try this and good luck, Lars

RE: All season trailers

A couple of things to consider with the Arctic Fox--they are only built as a 4 seasons camper--also, they are built to go off road with a higher and heavier frame and shock absorbers on each wheel as standard equipment. Check out their Forum at http://www.afnash.com/forum/ Good Luck, Lars

RE: GAS Prices!!! I sold my rig, my F-250 is next

I am going to be spending 7 nites in Pismo Beach, Ca., along the coast--next month--at about $41 per nite or 283.80. Now, if I was going to spend the same time in the same area--at a Best Western hotel/motel--the bill would be $1027.95 for the same time period. It is about 200 miles 1 way and about 175 for a tank full of deisel---so $175.00 plus 1027.95=$1202.95 or $283.80 plus $175.00=$458.80. I am keeping the 5'vr and the truck and probably having a much better time and meeting much nicer people. Lars

RE: looking for 3-4 season brands 24-25 long

I tow a larger Arctic Fox 5th wheel(look at Sig) with an 04 F250 Diesel 6.0 with no problems. This is my 2nd Arctic Fox. Love the 5'vr and Northwood really back up their products. Good Luck, Lars

RE: What would be peoples chouce for a fifth wheel

I kinda skimmed over the responses --didn't see any regarding the Arctic Fox, made by Northwood, in La Grande, Or. Just a thought.
Also, I saw a lot of discussion on getting a good dealer---actually, you need to make sure you have a "GOOD" service dept--usually the sales and service depts are run totally seperately---talk to folks that have dealt with the service dept and see if they recommend it. Good Luck, Lars

Portable Waste Tanks

I have been thinking of purchasing a portable waste tank--with wheels--to increase my gray tank capacity. Also, the added feature of being able to empty the gray tank without having to hitch up and tow the 5'vr to a dump area---just tow the waste tank to the dump area--- I do realize it might take a few trips. My gray tank is 50 gal.--so a portable tank is not a necessity all the time---but there have been occassions where it sure would have been handy. Any recommendations on name brands that seem to be easier to use or seem to have less problems over a period of time---I am thinking in the 18-25 gal. size. Thanks, Lars

RE: Huntington Beach California

I live about 20 minutes from Huntington Beach and our favorite place is Sunset Vista--it is basically a parking lot during the summer months and an Rv camping area the rest of the time. Each site has water and electrical--there is dump in the area--cost 45.00/ nite. The really neat thing is that you are right next to the beach/bike path and a couple hundred ft south of the pier and main street/stores, resturants--our favorite is the Sugar Shack. You really want to try to get a beach side site--definitely worth it.
Secondly is a state campgroud--thru Reserve America--again right on the beach, but a few miles north of the pier--Bolsa Chica State Beach. PM me for and info on either campground. Have Fun, Lars

RE: Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Last week we were dry camping in Quartzsite, Az. and had about the same scenario--Onan Microlite 4000 gasoline generator in the front storage compartment--drivers side exhaust extending a couple of inches beyond 5'vr side panel under bedrooom slide--had the furnace, generator, tv, etc. on and the carbon monoxide alarm went off. Only happened that 1 time--from than on we always had the bedroom, bathroom and living room ceiling vents cracked open a bit---never came back on. Lars

Good Sam Club

I have been a member of Good Sam for a number of years and have their Emergency Road Service, as well--used it and was really glad I had it. My question is about their Medical Emergency Assistance-- is it worth it--has anybody used it or tried to use it and what has been your experience been--is it worth it? Do you have it for your family or just yourself? Thanks for any input. Lars
